I reorganized a drawer instead of dealing with the thing

The Virgo New Moon is the correction to that. It's the one lunation of the year that rewards you for being specific instead of busy. The Virgo New Moon ritual — twenty minutes
Do this any evening between September 9 and September 13. Closest to the 10th is best, but the moon is not checking your calendar.
1. Clear one surface. Not the house. One surface. A tray, a windowsill, the corner of the dresser. Virgo rituals start with a clean square foot, and there's something in the doing of it that settles the rest.
2. Light a candle and put your stones down. Whatever you've got. If your only crystal is the one in the ring you never take off, that counts.
3. Write three intentions. Make them embarrassingly specific. This is the whole ritual, honestly. "I want more energy" becomes "I'm in bed by 10:30 on weeknights." "I want to be less stressed about money" becomes "I look at the account every Sunday morning with coffee." Virgo can only help you with things she can measure.
4. Write one thing you're putting down. One. A commitment, a habit, a standard you set for yourself in 2009 and never revisited. New moons are subtraction as much as addition.
5. Put the jewelry on and leave it on. This is the part people skip and it's the part that works. The list goes in a drawer. The bracelet goes out into your Tuesday. Twelve days from now when you're deciding whether to keep the promise, the thing on your wrist is the one voting.
