Start where you feel the pull.
The seven, and what each one is for
Seven centres running up the body, each with its own colour, its own stones and its own kind of stuck. You don't need to believe in the energetic model for the framework to be useful — it's a decent map of where things tend to go wrong.
- Root — red and black. Safety, stability, both feet on the ground. Garnet, black tourmaline, hematite, smoky quartz.
- Sacral — orange. Creativity, pleasure, the spark. Carnelian, orange calcite, sunstone.
- Solar Plexus — yellow. Confidence and drive, the part that decides. Citrine, tiger's eye, topaz.
- Heart — green and pink. Compassion, connection, letting people back in. Rose quartz, green aventurine, malachite, emerald.
- Throat — blue. Speaking clearly, saying the thing. Lapis lazuli, amazonite, blue lace agate, sodalite.
- Third Eye — indigo. Intuition, knowing before you can explain. Amethyst, labradorite, lapis, fluorite.
- Crown — violet and clear. Perspective, quieting the noise. Clear quartz, amethyst, selenite, moonstone.
How to pick one without overthinking it
Two approaches, and neither is wrong.
By symptom. Scattered and anxious, start at the root. Flat and uncreative, sacral. Second-guessing yourself, solar plexus. Guarded, heart. Swallowing what you mean, throat. Ignoring your own instincts, third eye. Lost in the weeds, crown.
By colour. Pick the one you want to look at. People land on the right centre this way more often than the theory would predict, and you'll wear it, which matters more than being technically correct.
Wearing more than one
Seven-chakra pieces — the rainbow bracelets and multi-stone necklaces — cover the whole system at once and are the usual starting point. They're also the easiest gift, because you're not diagnosing anyone.
Beyond that, two or three stones stacked is plenty. A common pairing is one grounding stone with one you're working on: smoky quartz with citrine, hematite with amethyst. The grounding stone keeps the stack from feeling floaty.
Where the jewellery fits
Traditionally you wear the stone near its centre — throat stones as a choker, heart stones as a pendant, root stones on the wrist or lower. In practice, wear it where you'll see it. A reminder you glance at forty times a day does more than one positioned perfectly and forgotten.
New to the whole thing? Chakras for beginners starts from zero. Or shop by stone instead, if you'd rather come at it from that direction.
Common questions
Which chakra should I start with?
The one matching what's currently difficult — or the colour you're drawn to, which gets people to the right place surprisingly often. A seven-chakra piece covers all of them if you'd rather not choose.
Do I have to believe in chakras for this to work?
No. It's a framework for naming what's off and choosing a reminder to carry. We sell jewellery and a prompt, not a treatment.
Can one stone cover two chakras?
Yes, and several do. Amethyst governs both Third Eye and Crown. Lapis covers Throat and Third Eye. That's the tradition, not a shortcut.
Where should I wear it?
Traditionally near the centre it belongs to. Practically, wherever you'll see it — a piece you glance at all day works better than one placed perfectly and forgotten.
Are the stones genuine?
Every listing states which it is: genuine, lab-created, hydro quartz or glass. Same place, same wording, every time.
What's a good chakra gift?
A seven-chakra bracelet or necklace. It covers everything, needs no sizing, and doesn't require you to guess what someone is working through.
