Why this blue and not another one

Capri blue is a specific thing. It's the colour water goes when it's deep enough to lose the sand but clear enough to keep the light — the shade you get at Navagio on Zakynthos in the middle of the afternoon. It sits between turquoise and sapphire and it belongs to neither. Aqua is paler. Teal is greener. Navy has given up on light entirely.

I've been trying to match it since I was in my twenties, and everything in this collection is an attempt at the same colour in a different material.

Glass or hydro quartz — the difference

Faceted glass is where the colour started. Cut with real facets, so it throws light the way a gemstone does, and the colour is in the material rather than on it — it can't fade or wear off. Light for its size, which matters on a long drop earring.

Hydro quartz is lab-grown quartz, colour-treated on purpose to hit the same blue. Chemically it's quartz: harder, heavier, and cuttable into shapes glass won't hold. It is not a natural blue stone and we don't sell it as one — there's no such thing as naturally Capri-blue quartz, and anyone telling you otherwise is selling you the same treated material with a better story.

Where to start

The mini Pebble drops are the entry point — small, light, and the pair most people wear daily. The Exquisite teardrop is the other end: the statement piece, and the one that gets stopped in the street. In between sit the Marquis, the Aria and the Plumeria blooms.

What you're buying

Handmade in Calgary — Andrea builds these at her bench from finished glass and bezel-set hydro quartz components. Settings are nickel-free, gold or silver plated over base metal, not solid precious metal, and priced accordingly.
