The Pink Moon sounds like it should come with a scented candle and a bubble bath. Pink phlox, spring, pastel everything.
Then you check the sky and it's a Scorpio full moon. Which is a bit like ordering chamomile and getting an espresso with a note that says we need to talk.
Here's what I love about it: by late April you've had a month of spring trying to happen. This moon doesn't ask you to bloom. It asks you to be honest about what's growing, and what you've been watering out of habit.

When the Pink Moon rises in 2027
The Pink Moon peaks on Tuesday, April 20, 2027, at 4:27 p.m. Alberta time (6:27 p.m. Eastern). That's in daylight here, so the moment itself goes by unseen. Go out after sunset instead: in Calgary the moon clears the horizon around 9 p.m., low in the east-southeast, and it reads as full on the 19th and 21st too.
It isn't a supermoon or an eclipse. It's a regular-sized April full moon, which is fine. This one does its work on the ground, not in the headlines. Every 2027 date lives on the 2027 full moon calendar.
Why it's called the Pink Moon
It never looks pink. The name comes from wild pink phlox, Phlox subulata, one of the first wildflowers to cover the ground across North America in spring. It was popularized by the farmers' almanacs, and the April moon has other names too: the Egg Moon, the Sprouting Grass Moon, the Fish Moon. All of them say the same thing. Something is coming back.
I think about phlox every April. It's low and soft and it shows up right after the last frost whether anyone is ready or not. Delicate, and it survives anyway. That's the energy I want to borrow.
Pink Moon in Scorpio: what this one is asking
Full moons are traditionally read as release points, and every full moon sits opposite the sun. In 2027 the sun slips into Taurus in the early hours of April 20, and by that afternoon the moon is full in the very first degree of Scorpio.

In 2026, yes. The April 2026 Pink Moon fell on April 1, in Libra, which is where this guide started. Full moons drift through the signs from year to year, so the same name lands somewhere new each spring. In 2027 the Libra full moon comes a month earlier, with the Worm Moon in March. A five-minute Pink Moon ritual
