Peacock Aura is my name for this stone — custom color-treated hydro quartz, named years ago for the way it glows, like an aura. (It's not natural aura quartz, which I also carry; this is lab-grown quartz given a permanent purple-into-green finish.) An oval drop in that peacock-feather colour, anchoring a length of fine tassel chain.

How to store it (where most damage is actually prevented)
- Sterling silver: airtight — a zip bag or a box with an anti-tarnish strip. Air is what darkens it.
- Gold-plated & faceted glass: a soft pouch each, stored separately so harder pieces don't scratch the finish.
- Pearls: laid flat, never hung — the silk thread stretches over time.
- Necklaces: hung or laid flat so chains don't knot.
