September's blue, in the biggest pebble the glass line makes. Deep, steady, and slightly more serious than the rest of your jewellery box — which is rather the point of September.

Made by me, in Calgary: Glass & Light is my own line — I design each shape and assemble every pair here in Calgary, Alberta. Small batches, my hands.

Gifted, not worn: my Elegant drops went out in the swag bags at GBK's invite-only Golden Globes Gift Lounge in January 2014 — in the Onyx colourway. Cosmopolitan gave away one of those bags that year too.

What They Carry

💙 Sapphire Blue — September's Colour

Sapphire is September's stone, and its blue is the deep, level kind — not sky, not teal. It's the colour associated with clear thinking and holding your ground, which is a useful thing to have swinging beside your jaw on a long day.

✨ The Pebble Shape

Almost round — equal at its widest points, with a soft organic outline, no corners and no point. Shaped like a river stone that took a few thousand years to get it right. 17 mm across, hung from a small brushed-metal bail so the bead swings free and the facets keep moving. Elegant is the largest of the three pebble sizes; Mini Pebble is the everyday middle and Petite Pebble is the barely-there.

🪝 Two Lengths, One Bead

This bead is offered on the shepherd's hook and the long wire — not on leverback. That's the bead's own doing: at 17 mm across it needs room to swing, and a leverback holds it too close to the lobe to move. The smaller pebbles get the leverback; this one gets the drop.

🔍 Faceted Glass — Said Plainly

Faceted glass, not genuine sapphire. I put that in writing every time. Deep blue is the hardest colour to keep even at this scale — it goes almost black at the thick end if the material isn't consistent. Glass stays true right through the bead, and at 17 mm across that matters more than provenance does.

Why You'll Love Them

  • A proper statement drop that still weighs almost nothing
  • Soft pebble outline: rounded and organic — no hard corners, no sharp point
  • Choose your length: shepherd's hook sits close, the long wire swings
  • Gold, and only gold: this one is a single small run — no silver version

Wear Them Your Way

Gold against deep blue is the warm version of a cool colour — it stops the sapphire reading corporate. Hair up, take the long wire and let it be the outfit. Hair down, the shepherd's hook peeks. Deep blue becomes a neutral once you commit to it; give it a week and you'll stop taking them off.
