What It Carries

An open palm held outward, with an eye at its centre. Across the Mediterranean, North Africa and the Middle East it has stood for protection for well over a thousand years, and it works by deflection rather than confrontation — which is a distinction worth liking. Here it's done in layered blues, the colour most often paired with it for exactly that reason.
Maker's Note
I chose this one for the detail: at 15 mm it still has a proper eye, two blues, and sterling underneath rather than plate. Chosen by me for Mystic Soul Jewelry — a Canadian small business in Calgary, Alberta, since 2008.
