What birds carry as a symbol

Birds are the air element, and air is the element of thought — clarity, perspective, communication, the ability to get above a situation and see its actual shape. Across almost every culture birds are messengers, which makes sense: they're the only animals most people see crossing between one place and another all day long.

Individual birds carry their own readings. Ravens and crows are intelligence and the unflinching kind of truth. Owls are knowing something before you can prove it. Doves are peace and returning.
