Why you keep seeing the same number

There is a perfectly good psychological explanation, and it's called frequency illusion: once your brain flags something as significant, it starts showing you every instance of it. You were always glancing at the clock at 11:11. You only started counting recently.

That explanation doesn't actually make the experience less interesting. What it means is that some part of you decided that number was worth noticing, and then kept score. People wear the number for the same reason they write things on their hand — as a reminder to pay attention to whatever they were paying attention to when it started.

What each number is generally read as

• 111 — beginnings. A door that just opened.
• 222 — balance and partnership. Keep going, it's working.
• 333 — expression. Say the thing you haven't said.
• 444 — protection and foundation. You're supported.
• 555 — change incoming, whether or not you ordered it.
• 777 — alignment, luck, a run going your way.
• 888 — abundance and cycles closing.
• 999 — completion. Something is finishing so something else can start.

These readings come from numerology rather than from anything provable, and different sources vary. Pick the one that matches what you needed to hear.

Choosing a piece

Number pendants live or die on the typography. Ours are engraved or cut rather than printed, so the digits stay legible as the piece wears. Smaller pendants layer well under a larger focal piece; a single larger disc reads better on its own chain.
